The creators of "Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty" aimed for a simple, classy, and safe approach from the beginning. This romance drama brings together two individuals with different perspectives on relationships, marriage, and parenthood, adding humor, both clever and basic. The lead actors, Naveen Polishetty, known for his impeccable comedic timing, and Anushka Shetty, radiating poise, make this film with a predictable storyline reasonably enjoyable.

Anvita Shetty (Anushka Shetty) is a master chef who relocates to Hyderabad from the UK due to certain events. Her surroundings exude restrained elegance, much like her perfectly presented dishes. To put it humorously, her world is like a delicately spiced roasted eggplant compared to the greasy and spicy brinjal (eggplant) bajji that Sidhu Polishetty (Naveen Polishetty) prefers.

Director Mahesh Babu's story orchestrates a 'what if' scenario, where Anvita is hesitant about romance and marriage but desires motherhood to fill the void in her life. She's in search of a sperm donor with likable qualities. On the other hand, Sidhu is a typical guy we've seen around—studied engineering, holds a dull IT job, and finds joy in stand-up comedy.

"Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty" primarily revolves around Anvita, Sidhu, and their differing views on relationships, with a subplot championing stand-up comedy. Naveen Polishetty's talent for humor shines through, even in some weakly written segments. The film perks up with his entry, delivering humorous lines consistently, whether he's talking to his parents, colleagues, or Anvita. While some jokes may feel recycled from stand-up comedy events, he makes them work.

Once the characters are established, the story's trajectory becomes clear. The filmmakers adhere to the tried-and-tested formula of miscommunication, confusion, and resolution. However, this predictability and the lack of emotional depth are disappointing. For instance, although Anvita's reason for avoiding relationships is explained, its true weight is never fully understood. The age gap between the two leads is explored to a superficial extent, without delving into why it matters or how it might impact the story. These factors hinder our connection to their characters.

Before the final portion delves into themes of love and longing, there's an excessive use of double entendre for humor. The concluding part partially compensates for the earlier emotional shallowness. Naveen Polishetty adeptly transitions from humor to pathos in his character. Anushka maintains her poise and grace with a restrained performance.

Notably, the characters portrayed by Murali Sharma and Tulasi avoid melodrama and steer clear of the typical reactions one might expect from parents with a traditional mindset when faced with an unconventional romance.
